Tom Berwanger

Tom Berwanger has over 20 years of experience in Consulting on projects across Real Estate, Property Management, Project Management, Marketing, and Brand Development. Throughout his career, he has acted as an advisor to medical professionals, product manufacturers, retailers, and government officials on matters pertaining to real estate across the healthcare, entertainment, residential and infrastructure industries.   Mr. Berwanger has extensive knowledge of the various tax credit programs and recently played a key role in changing the Historic Tax Credit legislation for the state of Illinois.

Mr. Berwanger is currently the Managing Director for Global Strategy and Project Management for GDI.  Mr. Berwanger served in a similar capacity with Aristo Properties Group.  Prior to APG, Mr. Berwanger served as a marketing and branding consultant to Emaar, The Economic City on the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) project in Saudi Arabia. 

Mr. Berwanger has served as the Corporate Director of Real Estate and Property Management for OSF Healthcare System in Peoria, Illinois.  In this role, Mr. Berwanger was responsible for the oversight of all real estate and property management activity for a portfolio comprised of 8 hospitals, more than 180 satellite locations, and an asset portfolio worth over $1.5 billion.  In addition, Mr. Berwanger served as an advisor on several major construction and safety projects and served as a leader on several branding and marketing boards.  In his role, Mr. Berwanger also met regularly with local government officials on issues related to economic development and regulatory compliance. 

Mr. Berwanger earned B.S. Marketing from Northern Illinois University.  He has been a member in the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), focusing on the healthcare sector for several years.
